3683 Public Figures Celebrate Labor Day
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 29 - 04 - 2009

Nearly 3423 employees are expected to participate in Labor Day celebrations to be organized today by the General Federation of Egyptian Trade Unions at the Conferences Hall in Al-Azhar.
President Mubarak is scheduled to be attending plus 260 public figures, ministers and top State officials. The audience is expected to total 3683 persons.
The General Federation yesterday warned workers not to participate in the event of any unusual shouting. 23 unions are affiliated with the General Federation.
The Federation chairman, Hussein Megawer, said workers' slogans should express the national feelings which describe their human relations with President Mubarak.
He asked each union to be responsible for its workers and keep order among them. Sources told al-Masry al-Youm President Mubarak would announce the value of the social rise which millions of people need to help them face the high cost of life.
The rise, as al-Masry al-Youm reported yesterday, is expected to range between 10% and 15%. This average percentage is the closest to what has been specified in the State's new budget in which salaries appropriations have been raised to LE10 billion.
Mubarak would tackle in his speech the fallouts of the global financial crisis and world downturn and Egypt's efforts to face it, pushing the economy forward and increasing job opportunities, the Presidency Spokesman Suleiman Awwad remarked yesterday.
The president will honor 10 veteran union leaders and 2 veteran employees of Manpower and Migration Ministry with the first-class badge of honor, said Manpower and Migration Minister Aisha Abdel Hadi.
Three of union leaders to be honored are dead: Mukhtar Abdel Hamid, first deputy chairman of Trade Unions Federation and former Parliament deputy speaker, Fatehi Ne'amattallah, a Federation former member and Mohamed Abdel Moniem Gibeili, former secretary of the General Authority for Trade Workers.

To be honored as well are Abdel Hamid Sallub, former secretary general of Telecommunications Workers' General Union, Mohamed Abdel Qader Muntasir, former deputy head of the General Union for Education and Scientific Research Workers,
Kamal Eddin Wasef, former deputy head of the General Authority of Building and Timber Industries, Awatif Abdel Azim, former first deputy head of the Air Transportation Workers' General Authority,
Ali Hussein Ali Yousef, former assistant secretary general of the Chemical Industries Workers' General Union, Mohamed Ali Rezq, former deputy head of Press and Printing Workers' General Union and Kamel Ahmed Ali Suleiman, former deputy head of the General Authority for Administrative and Social Services Workers.
Veteran workers at Manpower Ministry to be honored are Saeed Mahmoud Abdel Magid, ministry undersecretary and former director of manpower and migration office in Cairo and Rashida Mukhtar Barhami, ministry undersecretary and former director of manpower and migration office in Beheira.
