Twenty Tons of Fake Drugs and Cosmetics, Five Tons of Rotten Meat Seized in Giza, Cairo and Alexandria

The Ministry of Local Development has received a report from governorates' secretary-generals on corrupt food in last June. The report said twenty tons of fake drugs and cosmetics, in addition to five tons of rotten meat were seized.
 
Giza Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade found 85 tons of subsidized cooking oil, rice and sugar in the stores of the Egyptian Company for Wholesale in Imbaba before being sold in the black market. These goods should have been distributed to the low socio economic people having ration cards.
 
The authorities have also seized five tons of fake drugs in al-Tawabek district, some 15 tons of fake cosmetics in Umraniah district, and 24 plastic barrels, each containing 13 kilograms of white cheese, in a cheese plant in Warraq district before being distributed to supermarkets.
Alexandria Directorate of Supply seized bad luncheon and pastrami, and expired drugs in unlicensed plants. In Menoufia, goods with unknown manufacturers or production date or expire date were seized.
 
For the second time within a week, Giza governorate seized 5 tons of rotten meat made of animals' bowels and poultry waste in a meat plant in Imbaba. The 6th of October governorate seized a ton of meat slaughtered outside the government slaughterhouses.
