Maj. Gen. Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Commandant General, said: "The death sentence against businessman Hisham Talaat Moustafa and Mohsen al-Sukary, who are accused of killing Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim, proves the Egyptian judiciary's integrity and refutes all doubts raised by some people since the beginning of the trial." Dubai police confirmed its confidence in the Egyptian judiciary since the killer's identity was revealed, he said, pointing out that a person who has committed murder must be punished whatever his name or influence is.
He added: "The file submitted by Dubai Police in the case is backed by strong evidence. It condemns one person, namely killer Mohsen Munir al-Sukary. We knew that al-Sukary only was involved, but the involvement of Hisham Talaat Mustafa was proved by the Egyptian authorities, which made great effort and cooperated fully with their counterpart bodies in Dubai."
With regard to the evidence provided by Dubai Police, Al Mazeina said: "Many evidences. It was the Egyptian authorities that were concerned to look into them. Anyway, they undoubtedly confirm that Tamim was killed by an Egyptian man called Mohsen Mounir al-Sukary."
