Cairo - Al-Azhar Observatory issued a report on Tuesday titled "New Strategy of ISIS is Lone-Wolf Attacks", noting that the terrorist organization uses this new approach to develop geographical expansion. Terrorist group 'the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria(ISIS)' claimed many attacks lately, all executed by individuals who had been inspired by the group's propaganda and instructions. Lone-wolf attacks are committed by someone who prepares and acts alone without command, instruction or material assistance from any groups. However, the attacker may be influenced or motivated by the ideology and beliefs of certain group and may act to support it. The Observatory's is a branch of Al Azhar; the Sunni Muslim world's foremost Islamic institution. The report said the military defeat suffered by ISIS in the territories of its proclaimed-caliphate has greatly forced the terrorist organization to expand beyond such geographical border. In order to develop such expansion, ISIS resorts to carrying out simple operations that require no complicated planning in different parts of Europe, including France, Britain and Germany. "It is noticeable that ISIS tries to take advantage of each action to fuel its terrorist attacks and ensure that its influence will remain regardless the organization's actual capabilities on the ground," the report reiterated.
