Cairo- Egypt's Al Azhar expressed its support for the Arab campaign to boycott the regimes supporting terrorism, in signal to the decision taken by a number of Arab countries to cut diplomatic relations with Qatar, in the light of the role performed by these regimes as giving shelter to extremists and interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. The Islamic institution praised the recent measures taken by the Arab leaders to ensure the integrity of the Arab nation and to undermine the plans aiming to destabilize the Arab countries and to divide them. It expressed its hope that these regimes will review their positions to achieve their interests and the interests of their people. A number of Arab countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Emirates, Libya, and Yemen, took a decision to cut diplomatic relations with the tiny Gulf state in response to the statements attributed to the Qatari Emir Tamim Bin Hamad in which he expressed his country's support for Iran, some days ago.
