Dubai - Five places you can't miss during your visit
Published in Albawaba on 02 - 06 - 2017

As a city that rises out of the desert by the sea, Dubai represents the future of modern design, creativity and innovation. These five experiences can't be missed, and for a place to stay, find the best rates for hotel rooms in Dubai on Wego.
1. Madinat Jumeirah
Mix tradition with famous Dubai luxury at the Madinat Jumeirah, inspired by an ancient Arabian citadel. With 44 restaurants, cafes, a thousand seat theatre, two luxury hotels, and the fully air conditioned Souk Madinat, you can comfortably spend a few hours shopping for perfumed scents, colourful glass lanterns, fragrant spices and creative crafts to take home with you.
Ride the waterways on a traditional wooden abra (wooden water taxi) so you can appreciate the design of the wind towers and forts.
2. Burj Khalifa
The world's tallest building requires little introduction and a visit to the very top is a must. Ascend 450 metres to the aptly named ‘At the Top' observation deck in the high-speed lift and get blown away by the unobstructed 360-degree views of the city, desert and ocean.
Grab dinner or a coffee at one of the many dining options at the base of the giant tower and make an attempt to get the entire building in one photo - it's a challenge!
The lake at the base will entertain you with the world's largest choreographed fountain systems as the son-et-lumière show jets up to 22,000 gallons of water as high as 150 metres into the air. Each colourful, illuminated jet of water sways in time to accompanied music, producing Dubai's most popular show. The light emanating from the show can be seen from around 30 kilometres away.
3. IMG Worlds of Adventure
It's difficult to imagine 140,000 square metres, or 28 football fields, but that's the size of it. IMG Worlds of Adventure is one of Dubai's newest theme parks.
Ride some adrenaline-pumping roller coasters and make friends with dozens of life-size animatronic dinosaurs, and don't miss the Hulk Epsilon Base featuring 18 IMAX projectors.
Take the kids to LazyTown and be entertained by talented dancers and acrobatics, or visit the Haunted Hotel to get your spine tingling.
Enter the Marvel Universe and see your favourite Cartoon Network characters - it's a wonderful family day out.
4. Dubai Mall
Another ‘world's largest' and a must visit is the enormous Dubai Mall. Shopping, dining and amazing entertainment at the Dubai Ice Rink or Dubai Aquarium will keep everyone happy.
5. Kite Beach
The Arabian Gulf is the perfect spot to take to the water. Visit Kite Beach across from Al Manara Road Junction and sail across the emerald waters of the Arabian Gulf, or gaze at the experts as they seemingly fly just above the sea.
Make sure to book flights on Wego.com for the best airfares, and you can also compare hotel room prices to suit any budget. Now you're all set for a wonderful holiday in Dubai!
