Cairo- As an innovative way to confront illegitimate migration and raise awareness about its dangers, Egypt decided to produce a number of social radio series to settle the problems and burdens that confront migrants. The first series is entitled "Where are you going Salama". It tells the story of a young Egyptian man "Salama" who decides to migrate illegally. The series sheds lights on the struggle and dangers of his trip, in addition to the exploitation of traffickers. In September 2016, a boat carrying almost 600 people capsized off Egypt's coast , killing hundreds of them. This was one of the deadliest disasters among migrants trying to reach Europe. It sheds light on the importance of seeking accurate information on the safe ways of travel, and seeks to raise awareness on death traffickers and mafias that lead the illegal migration, along with their connections with terrorism, drug and arms traffickers. It also highlights the illusions that lure the youths to failure and dangers.
