Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, met Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi on the sidelines of his visit to Tunisia for participating in meetings of Arab Interior Ministers' Council. Spokesman for Arab League Secretary-General, Mahmoud Afifi said that the meeting included the exchanging of perspectives about last updates in Arab region, especially the Syrian issue. Afifi added both sides discussed the situation in Libya and different efforts made to approach common ground that Libyan parties can agree on "to reach stability and security in Libya". He praised the Tunisian role and efforts in Libya. He stressed the necessity for Arab League, United Nations, African Union, and European Union to work together, alongside with the Arab League Secretary General Special Representative to help reach stability and improve current situation. Afifi added the meeting discussed the most important outcomes of the 28th Arab League summit, held in Amman, and also discussed means of implementing the decisions of Arab Summit on political, economic and social levels in a way that improve and consolidate joint-Arab action during next phase. Tunisian president praised the role of Arab League in providing the atmosphere for cooperation between Arab countries, expressing his full support to efforts made by the Secretary-General in dealing with Arab issues, he added.
