Brussels - The Secretary General of the Muslim World league Dr.Mohammed bin Abddul Karim Al-Issa stressed Monday that the message of Islam was one of moderation, humanism, and mutual respect, the opposite of the terror ideologies carried out by the so-called Islamic State (IS) Speaking at a press conference in the Brussels Press Club, he said Islam rejected and refuted the terror messages, which terrorist organisations were trying to spread around the world. "Terrorism comes from Daesh (IS) and Al-Qaeda and its criminal supporters. their terror messages and criminal actions are directed more against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia than any other country," said Al-Issa, adding that "we have to defeat their false ideology." Al-Issa, a former Saudi justice minister, warned that extremist groups have penetrated the social media to spread their misguided and false messages about Islam. Over 1400 years, Islam is a part of important human civilization due to its lofty teachings and respect of freedom and tolerance, he stated. He noted that the Belgian government has itself verified that there is no evidence of these baseless accusations. He said the League has launched initiatives in many parts of the world to promote dialogue and peaceful co-existence among people. Al- Issa is currently visiting Brussels for meetings with EU officials and EU parliamentarians as well as with Belgian officials.
