Cairo - Upon directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip will open on both sides for three days. The decision is effective as of Monday 6/3/2017. It allows the crossing of stranded people, students and humanitarian aid into the coastal enclave. Egyptian authorities have, for the most part, kept the Rafah border crossing closed since July 2013, especially after deposing the former president Mohamed Morsi, the relation between Hamas and Egypt grew tense causing permanent close of the borders and was followed by attacks on the Qarm Al-Qawadis checkpoint by the militant group "Sinai Province."
