Minya (Egypt) - Two years ago twenty one Egyptian Christian workers were kidnapped and slaughtered by the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, also known as Daesh in Arabic) in the city of Sirte, Libya. Today, they are remembered with special rituals. The men, who came from different villages in Egypt, 13 of them from Al-Our village, Minya Governorate (in Upper Egypt, approximately 245 km (152 mi) south of Cairo on the western bank of the Nile River) were kidnapped in Sirte in two separate attacks on December 27, 2014, and in January 2015, Libyan sources reported then. Virgin Mary's Church (located at the birthplace of 13 of the 21 slain men) organized a prayer service in commemoration of the second anniversary of their 'martyrdom'.
