Washington - US President Donald Trump may shortly issue an executive order directing the State Department to examine whether it should designate the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO), media reported. Such a prospective decision will certainly have negative consequences on MB's organizational structure, and above all its funding operations both nationally and internationally. The designation will likely be affecting MB's internal organization, assets and outreach powers which will be strictly monitored in the west, pundits say. In a statement for ‘Albawaba News Portal' on Saturday, Sameh Eid, a Muslim Brotherhood dissenter, warned of the backlash scenario that might be expected from MB upon officially designating the group a foreign terrorist organization, entailing clampdown operations on its personnel and assets. Eid pointed out that at that juncture, "they will mobilize their resources and forces to hit back." All channels of communication with its satellites will be cut off, and MB will have nothing but to take up arms against the West in general and the US in particular.
