Egypt condemns assassination of Russian ambassador to Ankara

Cairo - Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday evening that Egypt condemns the assassination of Russia's Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov in Ankara.
The foreign ministry extended its condolence to Russia and its people and affirmed Egypt's support for Moscow in its fight against terrorism.
The statement said Egypt "reminds all countries of international conventions to provide protection to diplomatic missions, particularly with the ongoing threat of terrorism."
