Eleven Egyptian fishermen were released Tuesday after being arrested in Tunisia for trespassing in Tunisian territorial waters, MENA reported Three more fishermen are expected to be freed soon according to officials. All 14 fishermen were arrested on 27 April by Tunisian authorities and were freed after negotiations between Tunisian authorities and Egyptian embassy officials. This is the latest incident involving Egyptian fishermen arrested in the territorial waters of neighbouring countries like Sudan, Libya and Tunisia. Egypt's foreign ministry has repeatedly intervened in these cases to ensure the release of the fishermen and has warned Egyptians against trespassing in foreign waters.
