Preparatory meetings for the session of joint Egyptian-Bahraini committee continue on Sunday, Al Bawaba News reported. The meetings started Saturday evening, under the chairmanship of assistant minister of foreign affairs for Arab affairs, Tariq Adel, while the Bahraini side was headed by undersecretary of foreign ministry for regional affairs. Both sides are expected to reach an agreement over the new mechanisms for political consultation between the two countries, which includes regular meetings between both countries' foreign ministers. The agreement will focus on the meetings held in Manama and Cairo, to discuss the bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest. The joint Egyptian-Bahraini committee session is expected to witness the signing of a number of agreements, memorandums of understanding and executive programs to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two sides in various fields.
