Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi met Saturday with U.S Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Danford in the attendance of Minister of Defense Sedky Sobhy and U.S ambassador to Cairo, Youm7 reported. The president welcomed the U.S official, expressing Egypt's keenness to strengthen its relations with the U.S and to improve the bilateral relations between the two countries in different fields. During the meeting, Sisi underlined the Egyptian efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, stressing the need for coordinating the efforts on the international and regional sides to achieve this objective. On the other hand, the American official stressed the importance of Egypt's role in the Middle East as a cornerstone of regional peace and stability, expressing his country's desire to intensify its cooperation with Egypt as a major partner. He also praised the Egyptian efforts to combat terrorism, stressing the American aspiration to increase cooperation with Egypt to confront the common challenges.
