Egypt's National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) decided to prevent journalists from attending the council's regular meetings, Al-Bawaba News reported Wednesday. Commenting on several press reports that accused NCHR's decision with rigidity over banning press personnel attending its regular sessions, NCHR's prominent member Mona Zul-Faqar said that the council issues periodic reports which are enough sufficient reasoning council's decision. On the other side, press syndicate called on NCHR's chairman, Mohamed Fayek to interfere and suspend the decision which is considered contradicting with NCHR's principles, pointing out affirmed that the constitution did not provide NCHR, as a national entity, any rights to issue such a decision.
