Egypt's civil aviation minister declined, to reveal the identity of the hijacker or the nationalities of the passengers on the hijacked EgyptAir jet at Larnaca Airport on Tuesday, for security reasons. In a press conference at the ministry, Sherif Fathy refused to ensure the identity of the hijacker, pointing out that the false news resulted in defaming an innocent man, since reports claimed that the kidnapper is an Egyptian university professor called Ibrahim Samaha. The minister asserted that the Egyptian authorities are waiting for investigating the passengers and the cabin crew before revealing further information.
