Egypt's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy returned home after a short visit to Riyadh over participating in the military chiefs meeting representing 39 member states of the Saudi-initiated international "anti-terrorism" coalition. Saudi Arabia has formed a coalition of 34 mainly Muslim countries - including powers such as Egypt and Turkey - to coordinate a fight against "terrorist organisations", saying its members would share intelligence, counter violent ideology and deploy troops if necessary to combat extremists. During the visit, Hegazy met with a number of military officials to discuss boosting bilateral military ties and the latest regional developments.
