The Cairo Criminal Court acquitted Saturday a defendant in the case publicly known as "Helwan Cell," and sentenced others to 15 years in prison, over joining terrorist group accusations, Youm7 news reported. In July 2015, prosecution accused the defendants, 8 of them in absentia, of joining illegal group aiming at obstructing the provisions of law and constitution, assaulting the freedoms of citizens, damaging the public peace, committing terrorism acts. The cell is allegedly affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, which finances the cell to conduct violent attacks.
