The Interior Ministry decided Saturday, to suspend 8 police soldiers who assaulted the doctors of Matareya Hospital, until the end of investigations of the incident, al-Masry al-Youm reported Sunday. The suspension decision was due to asserting the concept of respecting citizens, and to uphold the justice by punishing the offenders, even if they are policemen, Assistant Interior Minister for Public Relations and Media, Abu Bakr Abdel Karim told TV show aired on al-Assema TV channel on Saturday. The police soldiers reportedly assaulted 2 doctors of the Matareya Hospital on Thursday, causing wide outrage among doctors and led the Doctors Syndicate to file a complaint to the Attorney General against the perpetrators.
