Senior Militant Commander Killed in Army Attacks North of Hama
Published in Albawaba on 03 - 01 - 2016

A large number of militants, including the leader of al-Izza Jama'a terrorist group, were killed in the Syrian army offensive in the Northern part of Hama province on Sunday.
"Notorious commander of al-Izza Jama'a terrorist group Abdulkarim al-Sehh alongside five of his comrades were killed in the Syrian soldiers' attack in Latmeen village in Kafr Zita," provincial sources said.
"Meantime, tens of Jeish al-Fatah's members were killed or wounded in the Syrian forces' offensive near Lahaiya al-Sharqiyeh village," the sources added.
"Over 11 terrorists of al-Izza Jama'a were also killed in the Syrian government forces' attack in al-Lataminah town, while the terrorist group's military grid, including mortar launchers and TOW anti-tank missiles, were badly damaged in the attack ," the sources said.
"Also, Jund al-Aqsa militant group sustained a heavy death toll in the Syrian forces' offensive near Morek town North of Hama," the sources pointed out.
Reports said earlier today that the Syrian army has pushed back the militants groups towards the Homs province's Northern border, creating a large buffer-zone along the main road that leads from Hama city to al-Salamiyah city in the Southeast.
"Over the last 72 hours, the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces have not only captured 11 villages in Southeastern Hama, but also officially reopened the Hama-Salamiyah Road, that is the primary link between these two important cities in Central Syria," the army said.
