A friend of the San Bernardino terrorists, who killed 14 people on December 2, has told police that one of the killers, Syed Farook, had been planning a terrorist attack for years, reported the Washington Post. Enrique Marquez, 24, is alleged to have bought the rifle used to carry out the attack. According to a 36 page affidavit put together by the FBI based on interviews with Marquez, he and Farook had been planning an attack four years ago. Marquez has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to carry out two attacks in 2012. Those schemes predated Farook meeting and marrying Tashfeen Malik. In 2012 Marquez and Farook are alleged to have spent extensive time plotting, going so far as to select possible locations for an attack and practicing shooting at a firing range. Farook is alleged to have introduced Marquez, first to Islam and later to radical Islamist ideology, in which he had been steeped for years. The pair took a step back from plotting after a terrorism investigation in November 2012 saw four local men arrested.
