South Cairo Criminal Court resumes Saturday the trial of 47 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) members, charged with killing two police officers and injuring others, during an attack on Al-Tebbin police station in 2013. Prosecution also accused the defendants of thuggery, setting fire to the police station and attempting to let loose the prisoners as well as possessing weapons and joining an outlawed group. In August 2013, following the dispersal of the Raba'a and Nahda sit-ins, staged by the MB to demand the reinstatement of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, pro-Morsi protesters rallied in front of the police station and opened fire on security forces.
