European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), announced Monday allocation of $ 500 million in support to Egypt's solar energy program, Al Bawaba News reported. The new solar energy program in Egypt aims to generate about two thousand megawatts of solar energy, within the framework of an ambitious goal of obtaining 20% of its electricity from renewable sources. Egypt plans to generate two thousand megawatts of solar energy by establishing about 40 solar power stations, with each producing about 50 megawatts, as part of a strategy to increase renewable energy generation in Egypt with the help of private investors.
