Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr discussed on Friday with President of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Suma Chakrabarti the current and future financial cooperation between her country and the bank. During the meeting that came on sidelines of World Bank meetings, Chakrabarti praised the size of cooperation with Egypt, which includes social and development projects in various fields, Al Watan News reported. He indicated that the bank has financed 26 projects worth of one billion euros since the start of its activities in Egypt in November 2012. He stressed that the bank was well aware of the need for the implemented programs and projects to meet the needs and priorities of the Egyptian side at this current stage. Meanwhile, Nasr revealed that she has reviewed the planned contribution of the bank in funding projects throughout 2016, which includes projects in a number of sectors. The projects that the bank will fund include Damanhour power plant with $ 200 million as well as a $ 100 million fund for the purchase of new trains for the Metro's second line.
