Egyptian Center for Women's Rights (ECWR) and UN Women will launch Sunday ‘Women's Voices' initiative to prepare women for the upcoming parliamentary elections, Al-Bawaba News reported. Chairperson of ECWR, Nihad Abu Al-Komsan told Al-Bawaba in a statement that the 2014 Constitution allows a wide participation of women in the elected local councils and lays many responsibilities on the community to prepare women for such opportunities. The project aims to prepare and coordinate among young women who are socially active, for future leadership by encouraging them to join the elected local councils. The center seeks to prepare 1000 young women with leadership skills to enter the local councils in various Egyptian governorates.
