Rome's prosecutors and investigators from the Carabinieri anti-terrorism ROS unit said Monday they were investigating the kidnapping of four Italian workers near the western Libyan city of Mellitah. They allege the kidnappings were for the purpose of terrorism. The four were seized Sunday and the foreign ministry said Monday it was not clear who was responsible. All four are employees of a construction company working on an Eni energy project there.
