An IDF soldier was stabbed in the back by a Palestinian woman near the settlement of Nahliel in the West Bank, the army said Wednesday. MDA paramedics were treating an approximately 20-year-old youth suffering from light-to-moderate stab wounds at the scene. The soldier was carrying out routine security activity with his unit when the attack occurred. The terrorist has been taken into custody and will be questioned shortly, the IDF added. The terrorist arrived at a military post where soldiers were stationed, before producing a knife and carrying out the stabbing. Last month saw some six terror attacks in a period of a week-and-a-half in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Two Israelis were killed in the spate of attacks, prompting the IDF's Central Command to deploy more troops to patrol in the West Bank and increase their activities inside Palestinian villages, to gather intelligence and to search for suspects in the attacks. They have also been operating a series of random, mobile checkpoints across the West Bank in addition to the fixed roadblocks.
