Saudi Arabia's Interior Ministry announced Friday a car bomb exploded in front of Al Anoud Shi'ite mosque in the city of Dammam, leaving at least four people dead, RT reported. The ministry added in a statement the security personnel guarding the mosque suspected a car heading towards a parking lot near the mosque; as they approached it, the blast occurred. A witness, identifying himself only as Ahmed, told Reuters he and his family happened to be near the mosque at the time of the blast. He said that the explosion was very sudden, adding that acquaintances at the mosque reported a person had died in the blast, along with the suicide bomber, while attempting to stop the attack. A suicide bomber targeted, last week, a Shi'ite mosque in the town of Al Kdeh in Qatif province, east of Saudi Arabia, leaving at least 20 people dead and wounding several others. The Islamic State (IS) declared its responsibility for the attack.
