A car bomb explosion occurred Friday in front of Al Anoud Shi'ite mosque in Saudi Arabia's city of Dammam, leaving at least two people dead and one injured, Reuters reported. A witness, identifying himself only as Ahmed, told Reuters he and his family happened to be near the mosque at the time of the blast. He said that the explosion was very sudden, adding that acquaintances at the mosque reported that a person had died in the blast, along with the suicide bomber, after he attempted to prevent the incident from taking place. A suicide bomber targeted, last week, a Shi'ite mosque in the town of Al Kdeh in Qatif province, east of Saudi Arabia, leaving at least 20 people dead and wounding several others. The Islamic State (IS) declared its responsibility for the attack.
