The bomb, which exploded late yesterday, was planted by unknown militants under a bridge in Abu Hamad City. It exploded killing a person who was in his car passing by chance near the bridge, a security source said. The security forces rushed to the place of the incident for investigation. Attorney General Hisham Barakat referred the members to military prosecution for killing a policeman and exploding natural gas pipeline among many other charges. The defendants face charges of "forming committees within the Muslim Brotherhood, targeting military institutions, exploding natural gas pipeline in the Delta's town of Kafr el-Sheikh and train in Alexandria, setting a restaurant in Menoufia on fire and assassinating a policeman in Qalyubia," a statement said. The demonstration in January caught the world's attention after the death of 32-year-old protester Shaimaa Sabbagh was caught on video. The public prosecutor has separately charged a police officer who allegedly fired birdshot to try to disperse the protest in connection with Sabbagh's death.
