Head of Egypt's Judges Club Ahmed El Zend was sworn-in as the new Justice Minister on Wednesday, state-owned Al Ahram Newspaper reported. The new Egyptian minister is known of his opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood during the rule of ousted President Mohamed Mosris. He challenged the Islamists' proposal to reduce the judges' retirement age from 70 to 60. He was targeted by terrorists, as they attempted to bomb his house in January 2014. Zend took the office after the resignation of his predecessor Mahfouz Saber last week after making comments seen as classist. He said during a televised interview that the sond of garbage collectors should not be judges.
