Security forces killed two terror suspects accused of attempted murder of Judge, Moataz Khafagi, head of south Cairo court, which tries three cases involving Muslim Brotherhood figures, the Interior Ministry announced Monday. The suspects were killed in a heavy exchange of gunfire with security forces in Giza's southern district of Omrania, while police were attempting to arrest them at their house. On May 10, Khafagy survived an assassination attempt when a bomb went off under his car in Giza's district of Helwan, injuring one person and destroying the judge's car and three other vehicles in the vicinity of the explosion. Egypt has been witnessing an escalating wave of militancy since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, following mass street protests.
