U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry honored Wednesday the former Saudi foreign minister Saud Al Faisal, saying he "will be greatly missed.", according to Al-Bawaba News. "During four decades at the highest levels of international diplomacy, Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal helped guide Saudi Arabia through an ever-more-complicated world," Kerry said in an official statement, "I will continue to seek his counsel and value his friendship, forged over many hours spent discussing the challenges our nations face," he added. Kerry described Prince Saud as "the planet's longest-serving Foreign Minister," and "the wisest," as well, since he worked with 12 of Kerry's predecessors. Kerry added that he looks forward to continuing to work closely with Faisal's successor, Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel Al Jubeir. King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdel Aziz had issued a royal decree on the early hours of Wednesday announcing the appointment of Adel Al Jubeir as new foreign minister, instead of Prince Saud Al Faisal, after 40 years of serving the foreign policy of the kingdom.
