Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated Thursday, that Turkey is willing to enhance relationship with Egypt, if the latter released the ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi from jail and annul all death penalties against his supporters, Ahram Online reported. Ties between the two former allies have been strained since the overthrow of Morsi in 2013 after mass popular protests against him. Egypt has denounced previous remarks by Erdogan towards Sisi and dismissed Turkey's criticism of the government. However, the recent visit of Erdogan to Saudi Arabia, and the Turkish backing of military operation in Yemen involving Egyptian warships, indicated a potential improvement in the relations between Ankara and Cairo.
