International Criminal Law Bureau (ICLB), based in London, issued on April 2nd a report stating that the Muslim Brotherhood is the mother of all terrorist organizations in the Middle East and Africa, shedding the light on ideologies of the Brotherhood since its formation in Egypt, 1928. In a length of 150 pages, ICLB cited official reports and documented studies about history of the brotherhood, its origins, organizational structure that has been substantially unchanged since its formation in the early 1930s, and its activities, proving that MB formed an ideological basis from which various militant Islamists groups have originated, such as Al Qaeda, Islamic State, Boko Haram, Al Shabaab, Al Qassam Brigades and Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis.
The report mentioned the paramilitary branch of MB, the ‘Secret Apparatus', and its central role within the movement throughout its history, highlighting the Godfathers and founders of the brotherhood, such as Sayyid Qutb and his brother Mohamed, whose ideologies carried the seeds of Takfiri wave that swept the world, and inspired extremists throughout the years.
"This review also includes the Muslim Brotherhood's continued material support for these groups," ICLB affirmed in the brief published on their official website.
ICLB extracted the report from the status of Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, following the revolution against President Morsi's government in 2013.
The report will be followed by a series of subsequent reports that have been commissioned by the State Litigation Authority in Egypt, to be regarded as a legal reference to consider Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.
Egypt has labeled the MB as a terrorist organization in December, 2013.
