The Egyptian Supreme Military Court rejected Tuesday the appeals submitted by 9 defendants of the Arab Sharkas terrorist cell, on their life in prison and death sentences, media reported. In August 2014, the court had referred seven of the defendants' papers to the Grand Mufti, a common step before execution, over charges of targeting an army bus and killing two military engineers in the Arabs Sharkas area, Al Qalubeya governorate. The defendants faced charges of belonging to the Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis jihadist group, planning terrorist operations and attacking military facilities and naval ships.
