The U.S. Department of State said the political instability in Yemen will not stop the U.S. military operations to counter terrorism, according to Al Bawaba News. Deputy spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Marie Harf, said Monday that the U.S. is closely following the terrorist threats in Yemen, despite removing all U.S. Special Forces from Yemen last week, noting that Washington has its preparations in the region to counter the terrorist threats, describing the security condition in Yemen as dangerous, which will lead the country into a disaster. Harf stressed on the necessity to put an end to the violence by all the parts, and stick to the Gulf initiative and results of the national dialogue conference. The deputy spokesperson said that the U.S. is aware of the military and financial aid by Iran to Houthis. The political and security situations in Yemen have deteriorated since January 2015, following the seizure of the capital Sanaa by Shiite Houthi militants who ousted the legitimate president Abd Rabbo Mansur Hadi and put him under house arrest. On February 11, the United States suspended work at the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa, due to the Houthi insurgency in the capital.
