Egypt slams Amnesty report on airstrikes in Libya
Egypt has slammed a report by Amnesty International that accused Cairo of being responsible for civilian deaths in recent airstrikes on militant targets in eastern Libya.
On Tuesday, Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Badr Abdelatty, slammed the contents of the report, which suggested seven civilians were killed in the February 16 airstrikes, according to Egypt's MENA News Agency.
"The latest report issued by Amnesty International on the Egyptian air strike on the sites of the terrorist organization of (ISIL) includes false and incorrect information," Abdelatty said, voicing "deep surprise and resentment at the report" released on February 22.
The report added that Cairo "had failed to take the necessary precautions" during the airstrikes.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry did not say whether Cairo denied the death of seven civilians.

Kids in Egypt staging mock ISIS-style beheadings
In what appears to be a 24-second copycat, two of the children can be seen playing the role of "captives" as they kneel with their arms behind their back. Three other boys stand over them with toy swords to their throats and issue chilling demands — mimicking ISIS thugs who have been filmed killing hostages.
"We have no religion or nation," one of the children says to the camera with a smile on his face. "We slaughter children, women, and the elderly. We have decided the following – to kill all the youths of the town of [inaudible]. Slaughter then, o men!"
Two of the young "jihadis" then pretend to slice off the heads of their fake victims, who convincingly fall backwards to the ground moments later.
It is not clear where or when the video was filmed but Egyptian freelance journalist Tamer Abdo Amin reported that the children are from the city of El-Mahalla El-Kubra, which is an industrial and agricultural hub in the Nile Delta region, according to CEN.

Court Clears Mubarak Official
A Cairo court on Tuesday acquitted former President Hosni Mubarak's longtime interior minister of the last of several criminal charges that have kept him behind bars, opening a potential path to his release.
The acquittal of the former minister, Habib el-Adly, is the latest in a long string of rulings since the 2013 military takeover that have exonerated former officials jailed after the Arab Spring uprising in Egypt. Other decisions, meanwhile, have sent many of the uprising's young leaders to prison.
He was acquitted on Tuesday of charges that he had improperly awarded a $12 million contract for the manufacture of license plates to a German company without an open bidding process. An appeals court had overturned a previous conviction on the charges and ordered a retrial.
Mr. Adly may face other corruption charges, but he has exceeded the maximum period of incarceration without a conviction allowed under Egyptian law.

El-Sisi Updates Egypt's Law on Fighting Terror
Egyptian President, Abed Fattah el-Sisi, publicized a decree updating the country's law on fighting terror, and ruled that those who violate publicorder in any given way we be declared "terrorists."
Furthermore, Egyptian law enforcement officials were given the authority to prepare lists of terror suspects, with barely any need for legal evidence. According to the law, the prosecution in Egypt needs the mere approval from a judge in order to declare someone a "terrorist," freeze his assets, forbid him participation in public activities and limit his movement.
