The Islamic State (IS) militants in Libya withdrew from a village near Sirte on Tuesday amid the Egyptian air strikes on the groups' strongholds in Derna, according to al-Arabiya. Commentators suggested that IS militants left Nofaliya village and moved to Sirte in fear of being easily spotted in open areas. Monday, Egypt launched intensive airstrikes on IS training camps and ammunition storage sites in Derna, in retaliation to a video released Sunday, showing the execution of 21 Egyptian Christians who were kidnapped in Libya, late January.
