One soldier was killed and another was injured after unidentified men opened fire on a security checkpoint on Thursday in front of a hotel in Arish city of North Sinai. Security sources said that a group of masked men on a car fired intensively on two soldiers from Tourism and Antiquities Police during their service in front of 'Sina Sun' hotel in Arish. Security forces intensified their presence in the vicinity of the attack searching for the militants. North Sinai has witnessed several terrorist attacks that claimed lives of scores of policemen and soldiers, since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi.
