Assistant Minister of Health for Preventive Medicine Affairs Amr Kandil told Al Bawabh News Monday that the ministry will organize a vaccination campaign against polio in March and April. Kandil said that the campaign aims to vaccinate 14 million children in order to keep Egypt polio free. He added that there will also be two vaccination campaigns for children against measles in all governorates of Egypt. The first measles campaign will take place during mid-2015, the second at the beginning of 2016. According to the Ministry of Health, 97 per cent of infants and young children are now immunized against the six main diseases for which there are vaccines -tuberculosis, pertussis, polio, measles, diphtheria, and tetanus.
