Antiques authorities have seized antiques debentures belonging to the Central Bank at Salah Salem road, before the suspects could smuggle them abroad. Assistant Minister of Interior for Antiquities and Tourism Police, Momtaz Fathy directed antiquities investigation unit, to monitor the headquarters of a foreign company that attempted to smuggle a package labelled "Encyclopedias for promoting tourism to Egypt". The authorities have seized the antiques debentures at a police checkpoint at Salah Salem road, after monitoring the headquarters of the company at Misr El-Gadida area for 3 days. The suspects were on their way to the Cairo airport, but the authorities have stopped them and found the antiques debentures in their possession. While the authorities were searching the antiques debentures, they found a 100 Egyptian pounds debenture dated back to 25th of June 1898, Syrian, and Lebanese antiques debentures from the era of the French colonialism.
