President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met Saturday with a number of intellectuals, at the presidential headquarters in Heliopolis. The list of intellectuals who met the President included Galal Amin, Farouk Gweeda, Gamal Ghitani, Ibrahim Abdel Mageed, Ahmed Mourad, Mohamed Mansi Qandil, Tariq Imam, Al-Sayed Yassin, Ahmed Abdel Muti Higazi, Yousef Al-Qaaed, Waheed Hamed, Mohamed Salmawy, Farouk Shousha, Osama Al-Ghazali, Lamis Gaber and Fatma Naaot. Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Alaa Youssef pointed out that the meeting stressed on the importance role of education and media sector in raising awareness, spreading the moderate culture, and fighting extremism. Moreover, intellectuals noted the importance of activating the role of youth through community participation in various aspects of Egyptian life, and not only at the political field, but also at economic and social fields. The President explained that the National Service and Armed Forces engineering oversee the implementation of major development projects in order to ensure discipline and achievement in an unprecedented time to meet public demands and the urgent need for concrete achievements. Also, the President ended the meeting with adopting an agreement with the intellectuals on the preparation of a plan containing comprehensive, viable, and realistic proposals to develop the movement of intellectuality, literary, and art. He stressed that the institution of the presidency supports serious initiatives aiming to achieve the national interest and the development of Egyptian society.
