American archaeologist Mark Lehner examined the fossilized remains of a maritime animal on a stone block used by the ancient Egyptians to construct the outer walls of the tomb of Emery, who was the Chief of priests of King Khufu. Lehner said that the remains of the animal probably belongs to a Gastropoda, dating back to about fifty million years BC, where these creatures have been living undersea in this area, until the volcanoes erupted and the sea level was subsided, which fossilized these creatures. It is noteworthy to mention that the Minister of Antiquities and Heritage, Mamdouh El-Damaty has issued a decision more than two months ago to renovate the tomb of Emery to be opened to the public.
