A FIVE-man committee has begun a 20-day inspection tour of the sporting facilities of countries applying to host the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations. The delegation includes South Africa's Danny Jordan, FIFA's representative Walter Gagg, CAF representative Adnan El-Guindi, Cameroon's Abel Mbengue and Denis Mumble of South Africa. The visit started on Saturday and will end on 10 August. During that period, the delegation will visit the five bidding nations Angola, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria and Libya. "The team will assess in detail each country's sporting facilities such as stadia, hotels ,transport, hospitals, telecommunications and security," CAF communications director Soliman Habuba said. At the end of their inspection the committee will submit its reports to the 13-member CAF executive committee for voting during its meeting in September 2006. The CAF executive committee with voting rights comprises President Issa Hayatou (Cameroon), first vice-president Seyi Memane (Togo), second vice-president Molefi Oliphant (South Africa), Amadou Diakita (Mali), Adoum Djibrine (Chad), Amos Adamu (Nigeria), Mohamed Raouraoua (Algeria), Moses Baransananiye (Burundi), Suketu Patel (Seychelles), Hani Abu Reda (Egypt), Thierry Kamach (Central Africa Republic), Almami Kabele Camara (Guinea), and Celestin Musabyimana (Rwanda). Each CAF zone is represented by two members. In May 2006, the CAF executive committee short-listed Angola, Equatorial Guinea-Gabon (joint bid), Libya and Nigeria as bidding nations for the 2010 African Nations Cup. Other countries not pre-selected for the second round are Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal and Zimbabwe. The eight bidding countries in May presented their files before the CAF executive committee members and technical evaluation committee which include Danny Jordan (South Africa) and Tarek Bouchamaoui (Tunisia). The technical evaluation committee presented its reports to the executive committee before its final deliberations.
