"A Touch of Trustfulness", is the latest exhibition of paintings by esteemed artist Mortada Anis inaugurated at the Cairo Opera House Salah Taher gallery. The exhibition showcases 15 paintings sized 1,5 x2 metres through which the artist is highlighting his belief in the crucial role played by art in all its forms to express the nation's social and political issues. The artist also displays 14 huge portraits depicting all Arab and foreign leaders who supported Egypt politically and financially after the outbreak of the 25 January Revolution and who supported the Egyptians in their revolution against the rule of the Muslim Brothers in 30 June. Among those leaders are President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sissi, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the United Arab Emirates,SheikhKhalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, late king of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of France Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. This is in addition to two other portraits paying tribute to Egypt's assassinatedGeneral ProsecutorHisham Barakat and Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish. "I reflect my inner deep feelings and reactions towards Egypt's daily political and social issues and catastrophes on canvas," Anis explains. In the past, Anis gained his reputation as the painter of the most famous Egyptian films posters who cooperated with late director Rafaat Al-Mehi and painted the posters of a number of his highly talked about movies such as Al Sada Al Regal (The Gentlemen) and Al Avokato (The Lawyer). The exhibition continues until 21 September. Nagwa El-Ashri
