Kathak dance group led by Prachee Shah will be performing three shows in Egypt from 30 July to 3 August. “Kathak” is one of the most important Indian classical dance forms, originated from North India; in particular in Jaipur – State of Rajasthan. It was performed in the temples to offer praying to the God to achieve the inner peace and salvation of soul. The troupe is sponsored by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The performances will be held at Alexandria Creativity Centre in Alexandria on 30 July, Bani Suef Cultural Palace on 1 August and Sayed Darwish Hall, Academy of Arts, Cairo on 3 August. (The entry to the events in Alexandria and Bani Suef will be on first-come basis and entry to the show in Cairo will be by free invitation to be collected from the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture in Zamalek, Cairo).
