The focus is on the art of Gihan Raouf, the artist adopted the expressionistic abstract style in painting to express her adoration for flowers, nature and the bright colours that are brilliantly depicted on canvas. Raouf also delved deeply into the sea bed and documented with her brush the ravishing beauty of the sea creatures including the corals. She also depicts the excitement of diving cruises. Her paintings are full of optimism and hope creating a special dialogue with life and nature in unlimited horizons. Although flowers are the main theme in the artist's artworks, still each one of her paintings has a special impression and taste that distinguished her among her contemporaries. She depicted flowers and roses using a very unique style and quick brush strokes using the palette knife especially painting the sunflowers which are the dearest to her heart. A Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University graduate, Raouf graduated in 1966 and she is currently a painter and advertising designer and as well as a member in the Plastic Arts Syndicate. She resumed her art studies at San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, Spain and taught at the Cairo Faculty of Art Education and the Faculty of Applied Arts and the Supreme Institute of Applied Arts, Six October. The exhibition runs through the end of the season.
